Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki was born in New Mexico, USA, His
parents are from Yemen, Where he lived for eleven years
and received the early part of his Islamic education.
Awlaki has served as an Imam in Colorado, California,
and most recently in the Washington, D.C. area where he
headed the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Centre and was also
the Muslim Chaplain at George Washington University.
                                                                                     He studied the Islamic sciences of Quran, hadith, and fiqh
                                                                                     with scholars from Yemen. Imam Anwar also holds a B.S.
                                                                                     in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University,
                                                                                     and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from
                                                                                     San Diego State University. He migrated to Yemen and
                                                                                     despite having no travel restrictions, he currently
                                                                                     does not wish to leave his home country. On 31 August 2006,
                                                                                     ostensibly due to a Yemeni Secret Police investigation over
                                                                                     Yemeni Tribal issues, Awlaki was detained for questioning
                                                                                     by the Yemeni authorities. According to Awlaki, during
                                                                                     the course of his interrogation he was asked specific
                                                                                     questions about his Islamic activities, which led him
                                                                                     to believe that he was being held and questioned
                                                                                     at the behest of the United States government.
                                                                                     On 12 December 2007, Awlaki was released by the Yemeni
                                                                                     authorities and was reunited with his family. Anwar al-Awlaki
                                                                                     currently resides in Yemen, and is associated with Iman
                                                                                     University.

There has been recently an increase of unacceptable behavior
from the kuffar towards our beloved Prophet. So what
is the ruling of sharia on such incidents and how did the Sahaba
deal with such people and what do our scholars say
about them. About this and more Imam Anwar
will deliver a talk titled: “The Dust will Never Settle Down”.

The Life of Muhammad (S): Medina Period Part1 of 2
is the second part of a three part series
on the Sirah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S).
The first part covered the Makkan era. This part
focuses on the Medina era starting from the Hijrah
up until the battle of the Trench. Here,
Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki covers the first five years of the Medina
era which include the all important events of the Hijrah,
the establishment of the first Islamic State,
the battle of Badr, the Battle of Uhud,
and finally the battle of the Trench.

This set of lectures is the third and last part of
“The Life of Muhammad (saw)”. This set covers the
last five years of the life of the Messenger of Allah,
Muhammad (saw)from the fifth year of Hijra to the tenth.
It includes the important events of the
truce of Hudaybiyyah, the battle of Khaibar,
the battle of Mu’tah, the conquest of Makkah,
the battle of Hunain, the battle of Tabuk
and finally the passing away of the seal of the Prophets.

This series of lectures covers the different aspects of the
life of Abu Bakr (R.A.), including his life before Islam,
during the life of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.), and
finally during his Khalifah. Imam Awlaki brings to life stories
from the golden era of Islam in a dynamic style and instills
in the listeners a deep love for the Beloved of Allah (P.B.U.H.).

This series of lectures covers the different
aspects of the life of Umar Ibn Al-khataab(R.A.)

Mere decorations and occasional recitation upon the death
of a family member are just some of the ways
that the use and purpose of the Qur’an has
been misconstrued. Sheikh Anwar Al-Awlaki explains
and reminds the listener of the true purpose
for the Quran’s revelation. The Sheikh looks at
examples such as Ibn ‘Umar taking 14 years to memorize
Surah Baqarah, whereas nowadays it could take as little as
a few months. Why the discrepancy? It was due to their
application of each ayat before moving on to another.
One must remember to ponder, reflect and understand
the Quran properly, thereby actualizing the
true reason for its revelation.

These stories were narrated by the Prophet (saws) to
his Companions and have since found their way
into the books of sahih Hadith. Recorded
at a conference held in London by Jimas, in May 2003r

Allah Almighty says: “Behold! Verily on the
friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall
they grieve; those who believe and guard against evil.
For them are glad tidings, in the life of this world
and in the Hereafter.” The Messenger of Allah(pbuh)
explained the glad tidings of the life of this world
to be dreams. He said it is: “the good dream that a
Muslim sees or is seen for him” The world of dreams
is an amazing and intriguing one. The early scholar
of Islam Ibn Qutaybah says: “There is nothing that
people deal with from the different sciences that
is more obscure, delicate, exalted, noble, difficult,
and problematic than dreams, because they
are a type of revelation and a kind of prophethood”.
